Climate change has brought about a changing of seasons characterized by increasingly extreme temperatures and has led to an increasing use of air conditioners, which have now become a commonly used appliance. These have a strong effect on the energy balance, leading to the search for increasingly efficient and sustainable solutions.
ACS has developed a line of standard calorimeters that cover the testing and certification needs for home air conditioning systems, both split and monoblock types, and for testing air conditioners in the automotive industry.
The performance of air conditioners depends on the temperature and humidity in both the outdoor environment and the conditioned environment. For this reason an instrument such as a calorimeter that is able to:
- simulate inside one chamber the outdoor environment in which the condensing unit operates;
- simulate in the other chamber the conditioned indoor environment;
- at the same time, measure the thermal power that the air conditioner is able to exchange with the outside;
Becomes a fundamental tool for the correct sizing of the product.
The tests can be conducted in compliance with the ISO 5151-2010 standard.

The KeyKratos Plus management software is embedded in the machine in built-in and completely dedicated hardware, which allows the control and management of the chamber functions. The chamber can be accessed remotely to take advantage of the advanced functions (such as the visual creation of thermoclimatic profiles, recordings management and graph analysis) using the WinKratos software that can be installed on a company PC.
Software drivers can be provided on request that allow you to manage the chamber directly from applications created by the customer.
Two standard models are available that allow you to work on air conditioners with a maximum power of 12 kW and 20 kW.
